We met this month’s Trike of the Month winner at this year’s Wing Ding Rally in Greenville, SC. Deems and Carol Morgan, from Pennsville, NJ came by the Roadsmith display to share their beautiful 2003 Roadsmith with us and to join in our customer luncheon, the Roadsmith Rendezvous.
Deems is no stranger to motorcycles and, like many of his vintage, began his riding career on a Cushman scooter back in 1961. He moved from the Cushman to a Honda 55cc step-thru and on to a couple of 250 cc dirt bikes which he rode while serving his country in Guam. Upon returning from military service Deems picked up a 1979 Yamaha 650 Twin which he road for another couple of years before embarking on his Gold Wing phase where he still resides.
After a string of Gold Wings, Deems and his wife Carol settled on the 2003 that they currently ride. Carol came up with the name “Apple Annie” after returning home from the trike conversion which was expertly done by Ritchie Kennedy at Ace Motorworks in West Berlin, NJ. While the red color of their trike was the inspiration for the Apple Annie name, it was a natural extension to call their camper trailer the “Apple Cart.”
We would like to thank the expert folks at Ace Motorworks for, yet another, incredible trike build and we would like to thank the very entertaining Deems and Carol Morgan for sharing their beautiful trike with us and congratulate them on their Roadsmith Trike of the Month award!
