In the past, our Trike of the Month winners have featured everything from trikes that play music to ultra-custom conversions with incredibly fanciful paint jobs. But, this month’s trike winner is not being recognized so much for how it looks (although it does look great), but more for what it does. This month’s winner comes to us from our very own Trike Shop of Daytona and goes to Warren and Nancy Toth of Ormond Beach, FL. Their trike, which they have lovingly named “Rosie”, is a touring trike built for the purpose of taking two people on exciting adventures around the country, safely and comfortably. That’s just one of the things for which Roadsmiths are known, and in this case, that’s exactly what this trike did.
After riding Harley-Davidsons for more almost 50 years, Warren decided it was time to make a change and made the switch to a Honda Gold Wing, and in this case, one with a Roadsmith Trike conversion on it. Almost immediately upon taking possession of their new trike he and his wife, Nancy, decided to hit the road on the kind of trip that most people only dream about.
In their own words, this is how Warren and Nancy described their first trip:
We went on the adventure of a lifetime across the country and back with our beautiful 2005 Honda Trike we bought from The Trike Shop in Daytona Beach. We rode over 9,800 miles in 2 1/2 months and crossed through 18 states, including the Pacific Coast Highway on the west coast. We encountered high winds, torrential rain, 120 degree temperatures, steep mountains, wide open plains, etc., but nothing stopped our Rosie Roadsmith (as we call her) from giving us a smooth, comfortable ride. The addition of the auxiliary gas tank came in real handy across the desert where fuel was sometimes hard to find.
Thank you Mary and the guys at The Trike Shop. We love our Rosie and look forward to travelling across country again soon.
We are so happy to have Warren and Nancy as part of our Roadsmith Family and wish them many safe and happy miles on “Rosie” the Roadsmith.
