October's Trike of the Month Winner comes to us from Roadsmith Dealer, Central Motor Sports, in Mt. Pleasant, MI. They met the trike's owner, Barry Hall, at the Bike Time motorcycle rally this past year in Muskegon, MI and that's where they conceived of the trike you see here. Barry had decided to trike his 2007 Road Glide after riding a Harley Tri-Glide with his wife and he knew that the team at Central Motor Sports had a lot of experience creating high-end trike conversions using the Roadsmith kit.
As they talked about possible custom touches for the new trike, they learned that Barry had spent time in Vietnam as a "Seabee" or "Construction Battalion" member of the Navy, responsible for building bridges, roads and airstrips. It was following that discussion that they decided to incorporate the Seabee logo into the design of the new trike. He wanted to keep the basic Harley look while adding some "safety" chrome, custom pin striping and, of course, the Seabee logo. Other custom touches include a 21" front wheel, EZ-Steer, custom chrome rear wheels and the transition from the Harley Slim Tour Pack to a Deep Tour Pack. If you look closely, you'll see the ghost flames that tastefully cover the trike.
Following several long trips on his new trike, Barry reports that he and his wife ride the trike every chance they get and enjoy the smooth and comfortable ride. Congratulations to Barry Hall and the team at Central Motor Sports for creating a truly stunning example of a Roadsmith Trike and a fitting tribute to the Seabees!
