After the Storm…
As we write this month’s newsletter, hurricane “Sandy” has just decimated the east coast with what turned out to be a weather event for the record books. The storm’s ferocity, combined with a somewhat contentious presidential election on the day you receive this newsletter, combine to make for some interesting times for all of us this month. That being said, it will all soon be over and, regardless of who wins the election, we can (hopefully) rally together as a country and begin to move forward in a positive fashion.
And speaking of moving forward, the trike business continues to be the hot topic in motorsports with equally enthusiastic coverage by both industry publications and the mainstream press. Here at Roadsmith we have a program that alerts us when words like “motorcycle trike”, “Roadsmith” or similar terms are used on the internet. When we first started using this system a year or so ago, we received one or two alerts per week. Now, we receive alerts throughout the day letting us know that people are asking and talking about trikes (and Roadsmith, in particular) on a regular basis. It’s fascinating to see an industry demonstrate such incredible growth in a relatively short period of time and we are thankful that our overnight success was only 40 years in the making! All of this bodes well for the future of the industry and we are optimistic that the coming year will be even better than the last.
